Something's happening in Scala universe. According roadmap should be published later this month, version 2.8.1. Chronologically, it looks good because the version is already available as a second release candidate . With this small update, mainly eliminated errors which had been settled by the strong internal changes to the jump to version 2.8.
The next major update will be Scala 2.9, which is planned for early next year. It should be mentioned especially parallel collections.

A good and necessary step in order to scale in a commercial environment refers to acceptance, worthy of the language! (Scala workshops you can also book elsewhere ;-)
And a bit of advertising in their own right: The Galileo Published Today my book "The Scala Getting Started Developer .." Announced to be released next year. Until the publication is still plenty to do, but it's fun to see after over five years to once again created a book :-)
