Scala 2.8 and 2.0 lift

Nearly nine months after the last Official Version 2.7.7 is now finally: Scala 8.2 has been released! In addition to numerous bug fixes, there are many new features:
  • more lightweight, performant actuators
  • support Continuations
  • improved XML library
  • Revised of collections library and array implementation
  • Named and default arguments
  • package objects
  • better support for (nested) Java annotations
  • significantly improved Scala interpreter shell ( REPL) Input Others with Tab Completion
  • including
The tools Sbaz and Scaladoc are available in Version 2, the decompiler Scalap has been adapted to current language constructs. The Scala IDE for Eclipse been intensively revised, making it better now and Others involved in the Java tools in Eclipse.


Two weeks ago, the Scala web framework released Lift 2.0 . Apart of the already very good Ajax - and Comet support there, the following changes:
